HS2 Update Regarding Accessing Land for Monitoring and Surveys

HS2 have advised that they will soon be reissuing Schedule 2 notices (over the next two months or so) to landowners along the 2a route. This is to enable access to land to continue monitoring the Ground Investigation boreholes. It will also allow HS2 to carry out other surveys, such as ecological surveys to inform the land restoration programme. In some cases, notices may be issued just to enable access to an adjoining field or for further ecological works in support of nearby remediation activity.

Once the initial surveys have been carried out, HS2 will develop a programme to undertake the actual works. HS2 have advised that their contractors will be in touch with those impacted at least two weeks before any planned works

Landowners may be entitled to compensation for any loss experienced with these surveys and the details on how to make a claim will be contained on the notices sent to landowners. HS2 Ltd will cover the reasonable costs of any successful claim and recommend that landowners appoint professional advisors to progress any claims.

For further details/questions about these or any other aspects of the HS2 project, please contact the HS2 Helpdesk on freephone 08081 434 434 or at hs2enquiries@hs2.org.uk.
